National University's Founding LGBTQ Student Organization
NEW: Virtual, Self-Paced Safe Zone Ally Training
In December 2020, we piloted our first blended in-person and asynchronous Safe Zone Ally Training, in response to both COVID-related restrictions and the need for more flexible training options for our busy NU students.
In a traditional in-person training, all participants meet at the same time for a 2.5 hour training.
In the new blended training, participants go through the first part of the training by themselves, at their own pace. They then attend a 1-hr synchronous training (in person or via Zoom) to reflect on and complete their training experience.

To complete the blended training:
-
Download the Participant Training Packet .
-
Watch Part 1 and Part 2 of the self-paced training. Take time to reflect and write down questions and ideas.
-
Email clubs@nu.edu to let them know that you are ready for the 1-hr synchronous training. We will email you and let you know when the next one is being offered.
-
Attend your 1-hour training and receive your certificate of completion! After completing your training, let us know if you are interested in becoming a facilitator and offering this training to your classmates, colleagues, or community.
SafeZone Ally Training
One of our most important club activities is SafeZone Ally trainings. These 2-3 hour trainings give National University students an opportunity to build skills in group facilitation, cultural competence, and event planning, while increasing the LGBTQ literacy of our faculty, staff, students, and community.

Please contact us if you would like to arrange for a free Zoom or in-person training!
